According to estimates by The
Humane Society of the United States,
3-4 million cats and dogs are killed in shelters
every year due to overpopulation. There
simply aren't enough homes for all the animals.

Illinois residents can purchase "Pet Friendly"
license plates that help to fund spay/neuter
programs in Illinois.
If you currently have Illinois license plates and
would like to change to "I Am Pet Friendly" plates,
it will cost $40. ($25 will go to the Spay/Neuter
Fund; $15 will go to the Secretary of State special
plate fund.)
When you renew the "I Am Pet Friendly" license
plate, add $27 to the standard plate renewal fee.
($25 will go to the Spay/Neuter Fund; $2 to the
Secretary of State special plate fund.)
If you are purchasing "I Am Pet Friendly" plates
for the first time, it will cost $118. ($25 will go
to the Spay/Neuter Fund; $15 will go to the
Secretary of State special plate fund.)
